“Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything more than this comes from the evil one.” – Matthew 5:37 (NIV)
In a world full of empty promises and shifting standards, integrity still matters. Your word is not just sound—it’s a reflection of your character, your values, and your alignment with God.
Jesus didn’t teach us to sound impressive. He taught us to be consistent. When you say yes, mean it. When you say no, stand on it. The more we follow through on what we say, the more trustworthy we become—not just to others, but to God.
Your word should be an extension of your heart, not a tool of convenience. Because when your word can be trusted, so can your witness.
Don’t promise peace and deliver chaos. Don’t speak loyalty and show betrayal. If you want people to respect your presence, let them first respect your word.
Am I living in a way that my words and actions match?
Lord, help me to honor my word the way You honor Yours. Teach me to speak with intention, truth, and integrity. Let what I say reflect who I am in You. And when I fall short, give me the humility to make it right. May my words carry weight, not because they’re loud—but because they’re trustworthy.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
