A Kiss from Rose | You Would Think It Gets Easier

You would think over time things would get easier.
Less complicated.
Less stressful.
You would think time would prove itself.
That experience would settle your mind.
That history would build confidence.
But not so fast.
Let’s start with Jesus.
He performed miracles.
Opened blind eyes.
Healed the sick.
Raised the dead.
Over and over again.
And still…
There were nonbelievers.
God—the Creator of all things—
still has controversy surrounding Him.
Still questioned.
Still doubted.
Still debated.
But let a crisis hit…
And suddenly, He’s the first name called.
“God, help me.”
“Lord, I need you.”
“Jesus, fix this.”
And once it passes?
Back to doubt.
Back to worry.
Back to fear.
As if He didn’t just come through.
As if He hasn’t come through before.
We do the same thing in our everyday lives.
No matter how many times something—or someone—has proven themselves…
We look for the one moment it doesn’t go our way.
We ignore the history.
We ignore the consistency.
We ignore the track record.
And we highlight the flaw.
We do it in relationships.
With friends who’ve been there for years.
With family who has shown up time and time again.
With marriages that have endured seasons.
With people who have proven loyalty.
We overlook the evidence…
for a feeling.
We question what has been consistent…
for something that hasn’t even been tested.
We trade proven for preference.
And then wonder why things feel unstable.
👁️ Let’s Ask the Real Question
Is that self-sabotage?
Yes.
It is.
Because when you ignore truth for doubt…
when you overlook history for emotion…
when you dismiss what has been proven…
You are working against your own peace.
Self-sabotage looks like:
Putting your lack of trust in the forefront…
and putting proven evidence on the back burner.
It looks like constantly questioning what has already shown up for you.
It looks like needing things to fail just to confirm your fear.
📖 Hebrews 13:8
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Let that sit.
The same God.
The same power.
The same ability.
If He did it before…
He will do it again.
So today, ask yourself:
Why am I doubting what has already proven itself?
Why am I stressing when I have evidence of provision, protection, and presence?
Why am I focusing on what didn’t go my way…
and ignoring everything that has?
💌 Grandma’s Corner
Don’t let one moment of discomfort erase a lifetime of proof.
God has a track record.
And so do the people He’s placed in your life.
Trust what has been shown…
not just what you feel in the moment.
