Everybody wants to believe they’re “tapped in.”

Tapped into God.

Tapped into their spouse.

Tapped into their children.

Tapped into their friends.

Tapped into their family.

Tapped into their coworkers.

Tapped into their purpose.

Heck… some people even think they’re tapped into their enemies.

But are you really?

Or have you simply become comfortable with assumptions?

Being tapped in isn’t knowing everyone’s business.

It isn’t reading Facebook posts.

It isn’t watching stories.

It isn’t hearing what someone else said.

Being tapped in means you’re connected enough to notice what others overlook. It means your discernment is greater than your assumptions. It means people don’t have to scream for help because you’ve already sensed something isn’t right.

Let’s see just how tapped in you really are.

The “Tapped In” Checklist

☐ Can you recognize when someone’s smile is hiding pain?

☐ Do you know your spouse’s love language without asking?

☐ Can you tell when your child is struggling even when they say, “I’m fine”?

☐ Do you know what silently burdens your closest friend?

☐ Can you celebrate someone else’s success without secretly comparing it to your own?

☐ Do you know when someone needs advice… and when they simply need you to listen?

☐ Can you discern when correction is needed versus compassion?

☐ Are you intentional about checking on people without needing a reason?

☐ Do you apologize without adding, “but…”?

☐ Do you know when your words have wounded someone—even if that wasn’t your intention?

☐ Can you recognize when your own pride is speaking louder than your wisdom?

☐ Do you pray for people who can never repay you?

☐ Can you sit in silence with someone without feeling the need to fix everything?

☐ Do you know the dreams of the people closest to you?

☐ Do you know what they fear?

☐ Do you know what keeps them awake at night?

☐ Do you know what makes them laugh until they cry?

☐ Do you know what makes them feel safe?

☐ Have you created a space where people can tell you the truth without fear of punishment?

☐ Can people trust you with their vulnerability?

☐ Do people leave your presence feeling lighter… or heavier?

☐ Are you approachable?

☐ Are you teachable?

☐ Are you emotionally available?

☐ Are you spiritually discerning?

☐ When was the last time you asked someone, “How are you… really?”

☐ And then stayed long enough to hear the answer?

Now let’s go a little deeper…

Are you tapped into yourself?

Do you know what triggers you?

What still hurts?

What you’re avoiding?

What God is trying to heal?

What habits are sabotaging your relationships?

What areas of your life still need surrender?

Because sometimes we’re so busy trying to figure everyone else out…

We never take the time to understand ourselves.

The most irreplaceable people aren’t the loudest people.

They’re the ones who pay attention.

They remember the little things.

They notice the change in your voice.

They celebrate without envy.

They correct with love.

They pray without announcing it.

They protect your name when you’re absent.

They make you feel seen.

They make you feel heard.

They make you feel safe.

They make you feel valued.

That’s what being tapped in looks like.

It’s about caring enough to notice.

It’s about listening more than talking.

Observing more than assuming.

Loving more than judging.

Praying more than gossiping.

And showing up before someone has to beg you to.

But because they’re present.
