Today's message is a toe stepper. It will step on a few toes, maybe even my own.
However, the thing about Grandma's Corner is that we are here for transparency, a word, real-life stories and experiences, vulnerability, inspiration, motivation, and real talk!
Sometimes, in life, we must be reminded that we don’t sit as high as we think. Like Grandma would say, “Get off that high horse you think you’re sitting on. With your sadity-self!”
Who do you think you are, looking your nose down at another child of God?
Who do you think you are hiding behind titles, big houses, real estate, bank accounts, cars, and education when, in reality, you are unhappy and hurting?
Who do you think you are, using people until you do not need them? Only to discard them and act like they never did a thing for you.
Who do you think you are acting as if you have done everything on your own when you are standing on the backs of those you disrespect, your mother, father, aunts, uncles, the ancestors you never met, the slaves you make a mockery of, the poor people who do all of the work. At the same time, you sit in your corner office, the sister you sit beside, the brother you talk about, and lawmakers that constantly try to protect you.
Who do you think you are with your purposefully hidden scars while you point out the next person’s?
Who do you think you are sitting in God's chair judging others as if you sit that high? Or as if you are God Himself?
Who do you think you are leaving your sister/ brother behind when it was someone who helped you get to where you are?
Who do you think you are, the one who boldly refuses to forgive people yet asks for forgiveness from God daily?
Who do you think you are? You think you are only supposed to be on the receiving and never the giving ends.
Who do you think you are that you favor one child over the other?
Who do you think you are putting your spouse last in every situation?
Who do you think you are? No sin is greater than the other.
Who do you think you are, with all the bones and skeletons in your closet?
Who do you think you are acting like your children aren’t a product of the environment you created?
Who do you think you are abusing and misusing God’s love for you?
Who do you think you are forgetting to give God thanks and praises?
Of course, we can go on for days. However, we will end it here. We all get the point.
Be mindful of the things you do and say and your intentions behind them.
The audacity these days is at an all-time high. Church folk think they are better than the worldly, with beer and wine in their refrigerator. And the worldly passing judgment on the church folk for trying their best to get right with the Lord.
The mirror is a clear place to look at yourself and get a reality check.
