A Kiss from Rose | When You Can Still Pray While You Are Hurting

There is a different kind of faith that develops when life hurts and you still know how to find God.

Anybody can praise when the prayer has been answered. Anybody can worship when the doors are opening, the money is flowing, the family is well, the relationship is good, and life finally makes sense.

But what happens when you’re bleeding and still praying?

When you’re disappointed and still worshipping?

When you’ve been waiting longer than you expected and still believing?

When your heart is broken, but somewhere underneath all those broken pieces you can still whisper, “God, I trust You.”

That’s not weakness.

That’s faith under pressure.

Look at Job. He lost his children, his possessions, and his health. His grief was so great that he tore his clothes and fell to the ground—and yet Scripture says:

“…fell down upon the ground, and worshipped.” — Job 1:20 (KJV)

Don’t miss that.

Job didn’t pretend he wasn’t hurting.

He grieved and worshipped.

Those two things existed in the same moment.

Sometimes we think strong faith means never crying, never questioning, never becoming tired, and never feeling broken.

No.

Sometimes strong faith looks like crying while you pray.

Sometimes it’s worshipping without understanding.

Sometimes it’s saying, “God, I don’t like where I am, I don’t understand what You’re allowing, and I don’t know how this is going to end—but I’m still bringing my broken heart to You.”

That’s powerful because the pain didn’t separate you from your Source.

It drove you closer to Him.

Paul and Silas showed us another picture of this in Acts 16. They had been beaten, imprisoned, and placed in stocks.

Yet at midnight—

they prayed and sang praises unto God. (Acts 16:25)

And then something happened.

The prison shook.

💌 Grandma’s Corner

Maybe the greatest evidence of your spiritual strength isn’t that nothing can hurt you.

It’s that what hurt you couldn’t stop you from reaching God.

You still prayed.

You still worshipped.

You still believed.

You still got up.

You still expected God to be God.

And please remember: you are not the weapon—your faith is. Your prayer is. Your worship is. And the God responding to them is greater than anything you’re facing.

So bleed if you’re bleeding.

Cry if you need to cry.

Rest when you’re tired.

But somewhere in the middle of it all, whisper:

“God, I’m still here. And I still believe You.”

Because when pain couldn’t silence your prayer, waiting couldn’t cancel your worship, and brokenness couldn’t destroy your belief…

something in you became stronger than what tried to break you.
