A Kiss from Rose | When Passion Gets Misread Devotional

“People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.” – Proverbs 16:2 (NLT)

Sometimes your heart is in the right place, but your delivery doesn’t land the way you hoped. You speak from passion, urgency, or even pain—only to be met with confusion, criticism, or rejection. It hurts to be misunderstood, especially when your intent was to help, protect, or push someone toward better.

But take heart: God sees what others can’t. He examines the why behind the what. Your motives matter more to Him than anyone else’s misinterpretation. Even when people get it wrong, God gets it right.

Don’t let misjudgment harden your heart or silence your voice. Instead, ask God to refine your tone, increase your grace, and teach you how to carry truth with compassion. Passion without wisdom can sound like noise—but passion with God’s direction can change lives.

Are you trusting God to translate your heart even when others don’t understand it?

Father, You know my heart—even when others don’t. Help me express passion with patience, and emotion with empathy. Teach me how to speak in love and lead with humility. And when I’m misunderstood, remind me that You still understand me completely. Amen.
