A Kiss from Rose | What People Choose to Believe

alstonshropshire3

What people choose to believe about you often reflects their own heart more than your reality. Do they focus on your flaws, your struggles, and the moments you fall short? Do they define you by your past, your hardships, or the battles you fight in silence? Or do they choose to see the good you strive for, the progress you make, and the effort you put in daily?

People can be contradictory—claiming to follow Christ yet quick to judge, professing love yet withholding grace, preaching forgiveness yet clinging to condemnation. Many focus on sin and the need for redemption, not realizing that Jesus Himself saw beyond the failures. He saw the heart. He ate with sinners, lifted the broken, and embraced those the world rejected. He didn’t ignore sin, but He didn’t let it define a person’s worth.

Jesus didn’t just see what people were—He saw what they could become. He saw Peter’s potential, not just his denial. He saw Paul’s purpose, not just his past. He saw the woman caught in adultery not as a sinner to be stoned, but as a soul to be saved.

So, when people choose to define you by your worst moments, remember—Jesus sees your whole story, not just a single chapter. He sees your late-night struggles and your early-morning prayers. He sees your contradictions, yet He also sees your sincerity.

And at the end of the day, what others choose to focus on is their decision. But who you choose to be—that’s yours. Keep walking, keep growing, keep striving. Because their judgment does not define your worth, and their perception does not change the love and purpose Jesus has for you.
