A Kiss from Rose | Toot! Toot! Beep! Beep! This is God's Week
If anybody deserves to be bragged on, it’s GOD. We are going to keep this up all week long!
Today, we're not asking God for anything.
We're not bringing Him the bills, the problems, the people, the prayer list, or another “Lord, if You could just…”
Today, we're keeping the same energy as yesterday.
WE’RE TOOTING GOD’S HORN!
TOOT! TOOT!
Because if we can brag on our children, celebrate our friends, recommend our favorite restaurant, applaud somebody's accomplishments, and tell everybody when somebody has done a good job—
Surely we can brag on GOD.
David said:
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” — Psalm 34:1 (KJV)
So let me tell you about MY GOD.
He is JEHOVAH-JIREH — The LORD Will Provide. (Genesis 22:14.)
When I didn't know where it was coming from, He provided.
When I couldn't see the way, He made one.
When what I had didn't look like enough, somehow God sustained me.
TOOT! TOOT!
He is JEHOVAH-RAPHA — The LORD Who Heals. (Exodus 15:26.)
He is the God I can trust with every part of me—body, mind, heart, and spirit. And whether healing comes the way I imagined or through a process I didn't expect, He is still God.
TOOT! TOOT!
He is JEHOVAH-NISSI — The LORD Is My Banner. (Exodus 17:15.)
I've faced battles I didn't know how I would survive.
I've walked through things I wouldn't volunteer to walk through again.
I've had moments that tested everything I thought I knew about myself.
But look at me. I'm still here.
TOOT! TOOT!
He is JEHOVAH-SHALOM — The LORD Is Peace. (Judges 6:24.)
When everything around me was telling me to panic, God gave me peace.
Not because everything had been fixed.
Not because every question had been answered.
But because somehow I knew:
God was still with me.
TOOT! TOOT!
He is the LORD my Shepherd. (Psalm 23:1.)
He leads me.
He restores me.
He walks with me through valleys.
He prepares tables.
He anoints.
And goodness and mercy follow me.
TOOT THAT HORN!
He is El Shaddai — Almighty God. (Genesis 17:1.)
He is El Elyon — the Most High God. (Genesis 14:18–20.)
He is Immanuel — God with us. (Matthew 1:23.)
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6.)
He is the Resurrection and the Life. (John 11:25.)
He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending. (Revelation 1:8.)
TOOT! TOOT! TOOT!
💌 GRANDMA’S CORNER
And I'm not only tooting God's horn because of His names.
I'm tooting His horn because I've got receipts.
He made ways.
He carried me.
He forgave me.
He corrected me.
He protected me.
He comforted me.
He gave me wisdom when I didn't know what to do.
He gave me strength when I didn't think I had any left.
He gave me another chance when I knew I hadn't gotten everything right.
He kept me from things I saw.
And I believe He kept me from some things I never even knew were headed my way.
Some doors I prayed for, He opened.
Some doors I prayed for, He kept closed.
And some of those closed doors eventually had me saying,
“God, THANK YOU for not giving me what I thought I wanted.”
That's worth a TOOT! TOOT! all by itself.
Psalm 150:2 says:
“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”
So today, God, I'm giving You Your flowers.
Before I ask You for another thing, I want to thank You for everything You've already done.
Before I tell You what I still need, I want to acknowledge everything You've already provided.
Before I talk about what I'm waiting on, I want to praise You for everything You've already brought me through.
You're my Provider.
My Shepherd.
My Peace.
My Refuge.
My Strength.
My Help.
My Keeper.
My Redeemer.
My Savior.
My God.
And after everything You've carried me through, everything You've protected me from, everything You've forgiven me for, every prayer You've answered, every lesson You've taught me, and every morning You've allowed me to open my eyes—
I NEED SOME ROOM TO TOOT GOD’S HORN!
TOOT! TOOT!
GOD, YOU DID THAT!
TOOT! TOOT!
GOD, YOU KEPT ME!
TOOT! TOOT!
GOD, YOU MADE A WAY!
TOOT! TOOT!
GOD, YOU’VE BEEN FAITHFUL!
And if somebody thinks I'm making too much noise praising God—
they might want to move over.
