When people believe someone is “green,” they assume that person is naive or inexperienced, making them an easy target. They’ll try to take advantage, thinking the person won’t recognize what’s happening. They push boundaries, twist situations, and attempt to gain the upper hand at someone else’s expense. But remember this: the grass is green, not me. Patience and kindness should never be mistaken for naivety, and no one should assume they can manipulate or take advantage of someone who is simply showing grace.
It’s a common mistake to confuse kindness with weakness. Some people believe they can exploit those who offer the benefit of the doubt, thinking they’ve found an easy mark. But without boundaries, they’ll continue to push limits. It’s crucial to make it clear: just because someone is understanding and accommodating doesn’t mean they are blind. Those who try to take advantage will soon realize they’re not dealing with someone easily fooled. The grass may be green, but the person standing in it knows exactly what’s going on.
In life, never allow others to confuse patience for ignorance. Setting clear boundaries and showing that while grace may be extended, awareness is always present, is critical. Those who think they can deceive or manipulate will quickly find out they’ve been watched all along.
So, thank you for joining Too Far Fridays. Let’s be clear—who do you think you’re playing with? God protects babies and fools, but if you’re neither, know this: accountability will come for you. Choose your actions wisely, because not everyone will extend the same grace or turn a blind eye.
