A Kiss from Rose | Things Always Happen for a Reason

One of my Big Auntie’s favorite sayings to me is, “Things always happen for a reason.” At the time, I didn’t always understand what she meant. Like many of us, I wanted answers. I wanted to know why something happened, why God allowed it, and why it had to happen the way it did.

But as I’ve grown in my walk with Christ, I’ve learned something she already knew…

God never wastes a moment.

The first thing you need to know is this:

God knows exactly what He’s doing.

You may not have a clue about His why.

You may not understand His timing.

You may not see the outcome.

But He does.

We spend so much time trying to dissect every disappointment, every delay, every closed door, and every unexpected turn that we miss the beauty of trusting the One who already knows the end from the beginning.

The truth is, nothing in your life is happening by chance. Nothing catches God by surprise. Every season has a purpose. Every detour has a lesson. Every closed door is protecting you from something or preparing you for something greater.

Romans 8:28 reminds us,

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

Notice it says all things—not just the good things, not just the easy things, but all things.

Sometimes we’re so busy asking, “Lord, why?” that we forget to say,

“Lord, thank You.”

Thank You for bringing it into my life.

Thank You for removing what wasn’t meant for me.

Thank You for supplying all of my needs.

Thank You for seeing what I couldn’t see.

Thank You for protecting me from what I never knew was coming.

There will be moments when God sends people, opportunities, delays, or even disappointments because He sees a need you didn’t even know you had.

Don’t reject what God is sending simply because it arrived in unfamiliar packaging.

Sometimes the very thing you’re resisting is the answer to a prayer you forgot you prayed.

Isaiah 55:8-9 says,

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord… As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

His perspective is eternal.

Ours is temporary.

So stop trying to figure out every detail.

Stop trying to control every outcome.

Stop trying to understand what only time and God can reveal.

Instead…

Enjoy the journey.

Grow through the process.

Trust His heart even when you can’t trace His hand.

Because if God allowed it…

He already has a purpose for it.

The next time life doesn’t make sense…

Simply whisper,

“Thank You, Lord.”

I may not know the why.

I may not know the outcome.

But I know You are good.

I know You are faithful.

And I know You don’t make mistakes.

Proverbs 3:5-6 ( my mom’s go to scripture to me, I’m blessed with some anointed women in my family) tells us,

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”

So today…

Stop trying to understand everything.

Trust the God who already does.

Because things always happen for a reason…

And when God is the Author of your story, every reason has a purpose, every purpose has a promise, and every promise is working for your good.
