In our pursuit of progress and fulfillment, we often overlook the importance of doing things in a way that honors both God and others. How often do we act hastily, driven by impatience or self-interest, only to find ourselves causing harm or chaos? When we cut corners or disregard proper order, we disrupt the harmony that God intended and bring unnecessary consequences upon ourselves and those around us.
Think about those moments when our actions, done out of sequence or without thought, negatively impacted someone else. Perhaps it was a rash decision that created confusion, a conversation that hurt someone because it wasn’t handled with care, or a step taken too soon that derailed a greater opportunity God had planned. These moments of disorder ripple into the lives of those we care about, making us responsible for the discomfort or pain they might experience.
Scripture reminds us, “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40). When we ignore this command, we are not just defying a divine guideline; we are dishonoring God and potentially placing unnecessary burdens on those around us. Are we truly living in a way that reflects our love for God and respect for others? If not, we owe it to ourselves and to Him to reassess our approach, humble ourselves, and commit to doing things the right way, no matter how long it may take or how difficult it may seem.
