A Kiss from Rose | The More Unwanted You Are, The More Necessary You Become

Have you ever noticed that some of the people the world overlooked became the very people God used the most?

The more unwanted and undesirable they appeared, the more necessary and desirable they became in God’s plan.

The world often measures people by appearance, popularity, status, influence, and acceptance. But God has always measured people by their heart, their obedience, and their willingness to trust Him. What others reject, God often selects. What others overlook, God often elevates. What others dismiss, God frequently appoints.

Consider Joseph. His own brothers rejected him, threw him into a pit, and sold him into slavery because they couldn’t see what God saw. To them, Joseph was a problem. To God, Joseph was the answer to preserving an entire nation during famine. The pit wasn’t the end of Joseph’s story—it was the pathway to the palace.

Think about David. When Samuel came to Jesse’s house to anoint Israel’s next king, David wasn’t even invited to the gathering. His own family considered him the least likely. While everyone else looked at stature and appearance, God looked at David’s heart. The shepherd boy no one expected became the king everyone remembers.

Then there is Moses. He saw himself as inadequate because of his speech. He questioned whether anyone would listen to him. Yet the very man who believed he wasn’t qualified became God’s chosen leader to confront Pharaoh and lead Israel out of Egyptian bondage. His insecurity did not disqualify God’s calling.

And who could forget Jesus Himself? Isaiah prophesied that He would have “no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him” (Isaiah 53:2). He was rejected, despised, mocked, betrayed, and crucified. Many saw Him as unwanted, but He became the Savior the entire world desperately needed. What looked like rejection became redemption. What looked like defeat became victory.

What does this teach us?

Sometimes your rejection is not a reflection of your worth. It is preparation for your assignment. God will often allow you to be overlooked by people so you will never forget to look to Him. The places that refused to receive you may simply be the places God never intended for you to remain.

So don’t measure your value by who walked away, who overlooked you, or who failed to appreciate you. Measure it by the God who chose you before the foundation of the world. If He called you, He will qualify you. If He planted you, He will grow you. If He promised it, He will bring it to pass.
