A Kiss from Rose | The Little Lost Sheep

There was once a little sheep, wandering through the fields, desperately trying to find a place among the flock. Every time it approached, the other sheep would push it away, closing their circles tighter. They laughed, whispered, and ridiculed the little sheep, leaving it alone, standing at the edges. The only time it felt close to the flock was when the Shepherd was near, for the Shepherd always watched over it.

The Shepherd noticed how tirelessly the little sheep kept trying, how it longed to belong but was always cast aside. One day, with love and authority, the Shepherd called the little sheep to the front, placing it in a position of honor. With a strong voice, He spoke to the flock, “This little sheep is My child, and no one shall mistreat or abandon it any longer. You, my flock, are to protect and cherish this sheep, for it is under My special favor.”

And from that day forward, the little sheep was no longer alone, for the Shepherd had declared it precious. The flock learned that mistreating others, casting them aside, and ridiculing them could lead to missing the truth of who they are in the eyes of the Shepherd. You never know the special covering or favor someone may carry. Be mindful of how you treat others, for the very one you push away today might be the one divinely chosen and set apart for a purpose far greater than you can imagine. The Shepherd sees what you cannot, and His favor rests where you least expect it.
