When Jesus ascended into Heaven, He didn’t leave us to face life alone. He sent us a Comforter—the Holy Spirit—to dwell within us, guide us, and remind us of everything He taught. The Holy Spirit isn’t just a presence; He is a Person of the Trinity with a divine purpose: to lead us into truth, intercede for us, and empower us to live in victory.
We need the Holy Spirit because life will test our faith, circumstances will stretch our endurance, and we will need wisdom beyond our own. The Holy Spirit gives us strength in weakness, clarity in confusion, and peace in chaos. He is not far off—He is always with us, dwelling inside every believer.
Pentecost Sunday marks the powerful moment when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the early church (Acts 2), igniting a movement of boldness, miracles, and transformation. It wasn’t just a historical event; it was the beginning of God’s Spirit living in us.
Jesus promised:
“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.” – John 14:16 (KJV)
And again,
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” – John 14:26 (KJV)
God has provided us with everything we need in life to make it. All we have to do is use them. - Alston Shropshire
