A Kiss from Rose | Recognizing What Many Overlooked

Gratitude. Meekness. Appreciation. Adoration.

These aren’t loud traits.

They don’t demand attention.

They don’t announce themselves when they enter the room.

And that’s exactly why they’re rare.

In a world chasing visibility, entitlement, and applause, the ability to recognize these attributes is a form of spiritual discernment. Not everyone can see them. Not everyone knows how to honor them. And not everyone understands their value—until they’re gone.

GRATITUDE

Gratitude is the awareness that nothing is owed to you.

It’s the quiet acknowledgment that breath, provision, opportunity, and grace are gifts—not guarantees.

When you recognize gratitude in someone, you’re seeing humility at work.

When you exhibit it, you position yourself to receive more—because God trusts grateful hands.

Scripture reminds us that Jesus noticed the one who returned to say thank you, not the nine who kept walking (Luke 17:15–19). God values gratitude because it recognizes the Source, not just the blessing.

MEEKNESS

Meekness is often misunderstood.

It is not weakness.

It is strength under control.

Meekness is the power to respond instead of react.

To stand firm without needing to dominate.

To know who you are without proving it.

God values meekness because it reflects trust.

The meek don’t force outcomes—they allow God to handle the weight.

And Scripture tells us the meek shall inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5), not because they are passive, but because they are aligned.

APPRECIATION

Appreciation is presence.

It’s noticing effort.

It’s acknowledging contribution.

It’s saying, “I see you,” without needing something in return.

A lack of appreciation hardens hearts and fractures relationships.

But where appreciation lives, people flourish.

God values appreciation because it honors people as His creation, not tools for convenience. When you show appreciation, you reflect the heart of a God who sees every act—seen and unseen.

ADORATION

Adoration is love without agenda.

It’s reverence without transaction.

It’s devotion rooted in awe, not entitlement.

When directed toward God, adoration shifts perspective.

It recenters the soul.

It reminds us who we are and who we are not.

God values adoration because it places Him where He belongs—not as an option, but as the center. Adoration keeps pride in check and faith in motion.

WHY YOU SHOULD TREASURE THESE ATTRIBUTES

Because they are markers of maturity.

Because they are evidence of healing.

Because they reveal a heart God can trust.

Pray for the ability to recognize them in others.

Exhibit them in your own life.

And treasure them when they show up—because not everyone carries them, and not everyone nurtures them.

Father God,

Give me eyes to recognize what is holy, quiet, and rare.

Teach me gratitude that honors You, meekness that trusts You, appreciation that uplifts others, and adoration that keeps my heart aligned.

Remove entitlement, pride, and blindness from my spirit.

Shape me into someone who reflects Your heart in how I see, respond, and love.

Let these attributes grow in me and guide me closer to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
