Who are you? When you look in the mirror, do you know who you are? When you lay down at night, do you know who you are? Are you being the real you at all times? Some people may think you are the perfect person, others may beg to differ. When you wake up in the morning you may decide you want to walk, talk, and act like someone else. When you lay down you may want to pretend none of it ever happened. I do not know how to be anyone other than who I am. I am consistently me, Alston. No matter if it is in the church house or my house, I am still the same. If I am standing on a street corner talking to someone or in the office talking to someone else. I am still the same. I know I am flawed, just like everyone else. I never ask for someone to see the perfection in me, just the dedication in me to be better than I was yesterday. I can wake up in the morning feeling good because I have good intentions for myself and the people around me. I sleep well at night because of the mere fact that my heart was pure as well as my intentions for that day. I also know my good as well as my not so good ways.
So when you ask who are you? Are you able to answer this question with honesty, authenticity, and transparency? People are more prone to want to examine others before they examine themselves, so let's start with me.
