“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)
God never intended for us to walk this life alone. From the beginning, He designed us for connection, covenant, and community. True friendship is more than shared laughs or similar interests—it’s about love that shows up when it matters most.
A real friend is a shelter in life’s storms, a mirror when we lose ourselves, and a quiet strength when our world feels loud. The Bible tells us that a true friend is born for adversity—meaning they’re built to stand by your side when others walk away.
In a world full of temporary ties and shallow circles, godly friendship is a gift. If you’ve got one, protect it. If you’re longing for one, pray for it. And always strive to be the kind of friend you’re hoping to find.
Are you showing up the way you want others to show up for you?
Lord, thank You for the gift of true friendship. Teach me to be loyal, present, and loving in every relationship You’ve entrusted to me. Help me to value people over pride and be a reflection of Your love in my friendships. Amen.
