A Kiss from Rose | Karma

The word karma is often used when people say:

“What goes around comes around.”

Or:

“They’re getting their karma.”

Traditionally, karma comes from Eastern religions and is the idea that actions create future consequences based on what a person does.

Good actions bring good outcomes.

Bad actions bring difficult outcomes.

In Christianity, the Bible does not teach karma in the traditional sense.

Instead, it teaches:

Sowing and reaping.

Meaning:

Our choices matter.

Actions have consequences.

And what we plant often produces something later.

📖 Galatians 6:7

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

This is not karma.

This is accountability.

Let’s look at examples.

Haman (Book of Esther)

Haman built gallows intending harm for Mordecai.

In the end…

Haman was the one who faced the consequence.

What he prepared for another became part of his own outcome.

Lesson:

Sometimes the trap returns to the trapper.

Joseph and His Brothers

Joseph’s brothers betrayed him.

They threw him into a pit.

Sold him.

Lied about him.

Years later they stood before the very brother they harmed.

Now here is where the Bible differs from karma:

Joseph chose mercy.

He forgave.

📖 Genesis 50:20

“You meant evil against me; but God meant it unto good…”

The lesson?

God can redeem what people meant to destroy.

David and Bathsheba

David misused power and made harmful choices.

The consequences reached beyond the moment.

This shows us:

Even people after God’s heart are accountable.

Grace exists.

But choices still matter.

Pharaoh

Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his heart.

He ignored warnings.

Resisted truth.

Refused change.

Eventually those decisions carried consequences.

The lesson:

Delayed obedience still has impact.

💡 So what is the deeper meaning?

Whether you call it karma…

Consequences…

Sowing and reaping…

The principle remains:

Words matter.

Behavior matters.

Treatment of people matters.

Kindness matters.

Integrity matters.

What you release into the world often returns in some form.

But here is the beautiful difference in faith:

God adds mercy.

God adds grace.

God adds redemption.

Because sometimes we deserve consequences…

And God gives correction instead.

Sometimes we deserve loss…

And God gives another chance.

💌 Grandma’s Corner

Be careful what you plant.

Plant kindness.

Plant honesty.

Plant compassion.

Plant love.

Because one day…

You may stand in the field of what you once sowed.

And when that day comes…

May it be something beautiful.
