A Kiss from Rose | If You Don’t Like Someone, Stay Out Their Face

Scripture Reference: Romans 12:9 — “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

Let’s be real—phony is out of season.

If you don’t care for someone, do yourself and them a favor: stop smiling in their face while throwing darts behind their back. God never called us to be best friends with everyone, but He did command us to operate in love, honesty, and integrity.

There’s no reward in pretending. That “church hug” with a hidden side-eye isn’t fooling God. That surface-level support laced with resentment? That’s spiritual pollution. And whether you admit it or not, God sees it… and so does the other person.

🪞 Self-Check:

  • Why are you pretending?

  • What do you gain from faking peace?

  • Is your energy matching your intentions?

  • Are you blocking real connections by entertaining fake ones?

📖 Let the Word Speak:

  • Proverbs 26:24–26 – “He who hates disguises it with his lips, but he lays up deceit in his heart…”

  • Matthew 5:37 – “Let your yes be yes and your no be no…”

  • 1 John 4:20 – “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar…”

✨ Truth Moment:

You don’t have to be close, but you do have to be Christlike.

Respect from a distance is still love.

Silence over shade is still strength.

And authenticity is still alignment.

Let’s stop normalizing being fake in the name of “keeping the peace” when the heart is at war.

🙏🏽 Prayer:

Lord, help me to walk in truth and not pretense.

Remove any masks I’ve worn to protect pride or avoid confrontation.

Give me wisdom to love honestly, and maturity to step away respectfully if needed.

I want to be real, not rehearsed—genuine, not just cordial.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

💌 Grandma’s Note:

You don’t have to be in the room if your heart isn’t. Don’t be somewhere your spirit doesn’t sit right. That ain’t God—that’s guilt or pride. Let the Lord lead you where peace resides.
