A Kiss from Rose | God’s Friday Hype Up
GOD DOESN’T PLAY ABOUT ME
And after everything I know about Him, I don’t play about God either.
We’ve spent this entire week pumping God up, and since this is the finale, I’m not bringing the energy down.
WE’RE TAKING THIS ONE ALL THE WAY UP.
Because what you thought?
GOD DOESN’T PLAY ABOUT ME.
You thought I fell?
No.
I was on my knees talking to God.
And YESSSSSS, God talks to me.
Through His Word. Through His Spirit. Through wisdom. Through conviction. Through confirmation. Through that unmistakable feeling that says, “Don’t go that way.” And through the peace that says, “You’re good. Keep moving.”
Effective communication?
MY GOD HAS THAT.
And while we’re discussing qualifications, His résumé is ridiculous.
That “spider sense” when everything looks right, but something in me says, “Mmmm… something isn’t right here”?
Discernment.
My head held high after life tried to make me shrink?
Confidence.
The ability to keep going when I should’ve run out of gas three exits ago?
Strength.
Knowing what to do when I don’t have all the answers?
Wisdom.
When my mouth has an entire presentation prepared—with slides, exhibits, witnesses, AND a closing argument—but something tells me, “Don’t say it.”
Self-control.
When fear starts talking but I move anyway?
Courage.
When everything around me says I should be falling apart, but somehow I’m steady?
Peace that passeth all understanding. (Philippians 4:7.)
When I can’t see the road ahead?
Direction.
When I don’t get everything right?
Grace.
When life takes something out of me?
Restoration.
My God doesn’t just tell me where to go and then stand back saying, “Good luck with that.”
MY GOD EQUIPS ME FOR WHERE HE’S TAKING ME.
And then He provides.
Because who can take a situation where I don’t have enough, can’t see enough, don’t know enough, and have absolutely no idea where “enough” is coming from—
and still make a way?
MY GOD.
I’ve had times when the numbers weren’t numbering.
The math wasn’t mathing.
The resources weren’t resourcing.
And the plan?
The plan wasn’t planning AT ALL.
I was looking around thinking,
“God… now how are we going to do THIS?”
And somehow…
Provision showed up.
An opportunity appeared.
Somebody called.
A door opened.
Help came from somewhere I wasn’t even looking.
And there it was—
a ram in the bush.
Genesis 22:13 tells us Abraham looked and saw a ram caught in the thicket.
And let me slide this in right here:
Don’t get blessed and develop amnesia.
Some of us remember when there was no money, no job, no answer, no hope, and no clue what was coming next—and God positioned somebody right where we needed them.
Sometimes the blessing wasn’t just what somebody gave you.
The blessing was that God sent somebody at all.
So don’t forget who God used just because you don’t need what you needed anymore.
My God knows how to place a ram.
He knows what I need.
He knows when I need it.
And He knows where to position it.
But God’s greatness isn’t limited to what He can do around me.
You should see what He can do IN me.
Because who can get underneath all the stuff I don’t talk about?
The wounds.
The rejection.
The disappointment.
The deep scars.
The things I learned how to smile over.
The things I dressed up, covered up, worked around, and convinced everybody—including myself—that I was fine about.
GOD CAN GET IN THERE.
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3 (KJV)
My God heals from the inside out.
And when my mind gets all jacked up?
God is my mind regulator.
When life has me turned around and I don’t know which direction is forward?
God is my navigational system.
Wrong road?
RECALCULATING.
Wrong thinking?
RECALCULATING.
Wrong people?
RECALCULATING.
Wrong decision?
RECALCULATING.
God knows how to redirect me without discarding me.
Correct me without abandoning me.
Convict me without condemning me.
Restore me without reminding me every five minutes that I got off course.
He knows how to get me back on track.
And THAT is why nobody can talk me out of what I know about God.
Don’t tell me what God can’t do.
You’re too late.
I’ve already seen too much.
I’ve seen Him provide when I didn’t have it.
I’ve seen Him send help when I didn’t know where help was coming from.
I’ve seen Him regulate my mind when my thoughts were everywhere.
I’ve seen Him heal places I didn’t tell anybody were hurting.
I’ve seen Him redirect me when I was headed the wrong way.
I’ve seen Him give me peace in situations that should’ve had me somewhere flipping tables.
I’ve seen Him keep me when I didn’t even know I needed keeping.
So I don’t have a theory about God.
I HAVE RECEIPTS.
Who made the way?
GOD.
Who kept me?
GOD.
Who equipped me?
GOD.
Who stayed when staying wasn’t easy?
GOD.
Who healed me?
GOD.
Who redirected me?
GOD.
Who gave me another chance?
GOD.
Who picked me up?
GOD.
Who regulated my mind?
GOD.
Who gave me strength when mine was gone?
GOD.
And who is still standing with me RIGHT NOW?
GOD.
So after an entire week of pumping God up, here’s my final statement:
GOD WAS.
GOD IS.
GOD WILL BE.
THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Because who else?
NOBODY.
Who compares?
NOBODY.
Who gets the glory?
GOD.
That’s why I can say it with my whole chest:
GOD DOESN’T PLAY ABOUT ME—AND I DON’T PLAY ABOUT GOD.
You can’t tell me what God can’t do.
I’m not waiting on proof.
I AM THE PROOF.
