A Kiss from Rose | God Remembers the Prayers We Forgot

Sometimes, in the rush of life, we may forget the prayers we’ve offered, but God, in His infinite love and wisdom, never forgets. He holds onto every prayer, even the ones that have slipped our minds, working in ways we might not see. The Bible is full of reminders that God is faithful to remember the prayers and cries of His people, even when we forget.

• Psalm 56:8 – “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

• Isaiah 49:15-16 – “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”

• 1 John 5:14 – “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

These verses remind us that God is deeply personal and cares about every detail of our lives, including the prayers we may no longer remember.

1. Hannah’s Prayer for a Son (1 Samuel 1:9-20)

Hannah, in her deep sorrow and longing for a child, poured out her heart to God at the temple. She was so distressed that Eli, the priest, thought she was drunk. Yet, after her prayer, she moved forward, trusting God to remember her plea. Though time passed, God did not forget her prayer. In His timing, He answered her, and she bore a son, Samuel, who went on to be a great prophet in Israel. Even when we may feel forgotten, God is faithful to answer in His perfect timing.

2. The Israelites’ Cry for Deliverance (Exodus 2:23-25)

The Israelites were enslaved in Egypt for hundreds of years, and their cries for deliverance seemed to go unanswered for a long time. Yet, God had not forgotten them. Exodus 2:24 says, “God heard their groaning and remembered His covenant.” God sent Moses to deliver them from bondage and lead them to freedom. Even when they may have thought their prayers were unheard, God was working on their behalf, preparing the way for their deliverance.

In both stories, God didn’t forget the prayers of His people, even when it seemed like time had passed without an answer. He moves according to His perfect will, often working behind the scenes, answering in ways we may not immediately understand. Rest assured that the prayers you’ve forgotten, God has already written down. Trust Him to answer them in His perfect way.
