A Kiss from Rose | God Has a Sense of Humor

Have you ever had one of those moments where you had to stop, look toward heaven, and just laugh?

Not because life was perfect…

But because you realized God gave you exactly what you asked for.

You prayed, “Lord, make me more patient.”

Then He sent you a coworker who tests every ounce of patience you didn’t know you had.

You prayed, “Lord, help me lose weight.”

Now every commercial is about cheesecake, somebody keeps bringing donuts to work, and your favorite restaurant has a two-for-one special.

You prayed, “Lord, remove distractions.”

Next thing you know, your phone is quiet…and now you’re wondering why nobody is calling! 😂

Sometimes God answers our prayers in ways that make us say…

“Okay, Lord…I mean…I asked…but I didn’t mean it like THAT!”

And if we’re honest…

God is probably saying…

“My child…you weren’t specific.”

The truth is, God listens.

He hears every word.

Sometimes we pray in broad strokes, but God answers in very practical ways. That’s why being specific matters—not because God doesn’t know your heart, but because praying specifically helps you understand what you’re truly asking Him for.

Don’t just ask God for a new job.

Ask Him for the right job.

Don’t just ask for a relationship.

Ask for one built on love, respect, wisdom, and His purpose.

Don’t just ask for increase.

Ask for the wisdom to manage it well.

Being specific isn’t just important in prayer…

It’s important in life.

Communication matters.

Clarity matters.

Intentionality matters.

The more specific we become, the more we recognize God’s hand when He answers.

💌 Grandma’s Corner

Every now and then…

Take a step back.

Look at your life.

Think about your prayers.

And just laugh.

Because if you’ve walked with God long enough, you’ve probably had a few moments where you said…

“Lord…You are hilarious!”

He’ll answer your prayer…

Teach your lesson…

Grow your faith…

And still leave you smiling when you realize what He was doing all along.

So the next time you pray…

Be intentional.

Be honest.

Be specific.

Because one thing about God…

He hears what you say.

And sometimes…

He’ll answer it exactly the way you asked.

So choose your words wisely!
