A Kiss from Rose | Extra Dose

Let’s talk about something we don’t call out enough.

Some of you are missing beautiful moments… because you’re too busy critiquing them.

Everything has to be just right.

The setting.

The timing.

The people.

The details.

The delivery.

And while you’re adjusting, correcting, analyzing, and side-eyeing every little thing…

The moment passes.

Gone.

You were there… but you weren’t present.

You didn’t laugh fully.

You didn’t relax.

You didn’t enjoy it.

Because your mind was too busy saying,

“This could’ve been better.”

“They should’ve done this differently.”

“This isn’t how I pictured it.”

And now what could’ve been a memory…

turns into a missed experience.

Let me say this gently but clearly:

Perfection is a moving target.

You’ll never catch it.

There will always be something slightly off.

Something you would’ve done differently.

Something that didn’t meet your expectation.

But here’s the truth:

The best moments in life are rarely perfect.

They’re a little messy.

A little unplanned.

A little off schedule.

A little loud.

A little funny for no reason.

That’s what makes them real.

You ever notice how the moments you remember the most weren’t the ones that went exactly as planned?

They were the ones where something went left…

and everybody ended up laughing about it anyway.

That’s life.

But when you’re stuck in critique mode, you miss that.

You become the person adjusting the picture while everyone else is living in it.

And then later you’re looking back thinking,

“I wish I would’ve just enjoyed it.”

So let’s shift something.

Enjoy the imperfections.

Laugh when things don’t go as planned.

Let people be human.

Let moments breathe without trying to control them.

Everything doesn’t need to be corrected.

Everything doesn’t need your commentary.

Everything doesn’t need to meet your personal standard to be meaningful.

Sometimes the joy is in letting go.

Letting go of control.

Letting go of expectations.

Letting go of the need for everything to be “just right.”

Because when you finally do…

you’ll realize something.

Life was never meant to be perfect.

It was meant to be experienced.

So next time you find yourself picking everything apart…

pause.

Look around.

Take it in.

And just enjoy it.

Because moments don’t wait for perfection…

they happen anyway.
