“But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.” – Genesis 19:26
There comes a moment when God makes it clear—it’s time to leave. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, spiritually. In Genesis, God was rescuing Lot’s family from destruction, yet Lot’s wife looked back. Her heart was still tied to a place that could no longer carry her promise.
How many times have you tried to fight for a seat at a table God already flipped? Or held on to a relationship, environment, or mindset that’s toxic, familiar, but no longer fruitful? That look back isn’t always with your eyes—it’s with your actions, your attachment, your refusal to release.
Some places you’re fighting for are already under divine demolition. God isn’t punishing you—He’s preserving you. Don’t delay your deliverance trying to resuscitate what God has removed.
Are you still holding on to something God told you to walk away from?
Lord, help me not to look back. Give me the strength to walk away from what no longer serves my calling. If You’re not in it, I don’t want it. Lead me into what’s next with clarity and courage. Amen.
