A Kiss from Rose | Don’t Let ‘Em Know How Much Sense You Got

Today's message is one directly from a good friend, Pastor Jermain Lane, also known as Coach Lane, all the way from Valdosta, GA.

I received a text message from him yesterday with this short message, and I decided to place it in Grandma's Corner today. As all of the glory goes to God, the credit for today's message goes to Pastor Lane. Thank you, Pastor!

Everybody doesn’t deserve access to your brilliance.

Yes, you caught that.

Yes, you see through it.

Yes, you could break it down and read the room like a chapter in your favorite book…

But Grandma would say:

“Don’t let people know how much sense you got.”

Not because you’re hiding —

However, silence can also protect, preserve, and position you.

Some folks can’t handle your clarity.

They’ll either:

• Be intimidated by your wisdom

• Be irritated by your discernment

• Or try to imitate your spirit

And baby, all of that is a distraction.

You don’t need a mic to speak the truth.

Your stillness speaks.

Your fruit speaks.

Your discernment speaks volumes without ever needing to raise its voice.

📌 Remember:

Silence is not weakness — it’s strategy.

You don’t owe the world all of your knowing.

Just walk in it —

And let God reveal what needs to be known when the time is right.

The way I met Pastor Lane was out of an unfortunate situation but it brought forth a friendship that has stood the test of time. He is an awesome Pastor, great counsel and friend.

He cheers me on to do kingdom work. Now, it's always God’s timing, as He is still buffering some things on me, but eventually I will get all the way there. Trust God’s Timing!
