“Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe His commands… Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied… you will forget the Lord.” – Deuteronomy 8:11–12 (NIV)
The book of Deuteronomy is a powerful call to remember. As the Israelites stood on the edge of the Promised Land, Moses reminded them not to forget the God who brought them through the wilderness, parted the Red Sea, fed them with manna, and never left them—not even once.
Success can be just as dangerous as struggle. In lack, we lean on God. But in abundance, we’re tempted to forget Him. That’s why Deuteronomy urges us to keep God first in every season.
Don’t let the blessings make you forget the blesser. Don’t let comfort cancel out your calling. Obedience isn’t a one-time thing—it’s a lifestyle. God didn’t just bring you out—He’s bringing you into something greater. And He deserves your heart, then, now, and always.
Are you living like someone who remembers what God did for you?
Lord, thank You for bringing me through seasons I didn’t think I’d survive. Help me never to forget Your faithfulness. Teach me to walk in obedience, not just when I need You, but when I have everything I once prayed for. Amen.
