A Kiss from Rose | Did You Have a Hand In It

Have you ever had the chance to help someone, but instead you walked away? Now, it seems like no matter where you turn, you can’t catch a break—it’s as if you have holes in your pockets, and everything you try slips through your fingers. *"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act."* (Proverbs 3:27)

Maybe there was a moment when you could have shown kindness, but instead, your words cut deep like a samurai sword. Now, everything around you seems to be unraveling, falling apart piece by piece. *"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."* (Proverbs 18:21)

Perhaps you’ve found yourself playing both sides against the middle, taking advantage of someone’s kindness. And now, it feels like you’re drowning, overwhelmed by the weight of your own actions. *"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."* (Galatians 6:7)

I ask you this: Do you expect others to be kind and helpful when you’re struggling? Do you hope for compassion and understanding during your times of need? *"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you."* (Matthew 7:12)

Sometimes, God allows us to sit in the very seat of those we neglected, the ones we could have helped or shown compassion to, just to see if we’ve learned our lesson. But if we don’t, the cycle repeats, and karma continues to play out in our lives. *"But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."* (Matthew 6:15)

When will we understand that helping others pleases God? Being a listening ear to someone who is venting, showing compassion when it’s needed most—these are the things that please God. The question is, when will we learn to embrace them? *"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."* (Ephesians 4:32)

Did you have a hand in what you are going through because of the way you treated someone?

Who could you have helped and didn't?

Who could you have extended kindness and compassion?

Who did you look your nose down on or think they were not worthy?

Real talk, think about it.

“Did you have a hand in it? No one wants to face the reality of their actions. Real talk!” - Alston Shropshire
