A Kiss from Rose | Declaration and Affirmation

Nothing Good Will Pass Me By

Today, I declare that I will recognize what is good while it is in front of me. I will not be so distracted by what went wrong yesterday that I overlook what God is doing today. I declare that my eyes will notice, my ears will hear, my spirit will discern, and my heart will appreciate the good things entering my life.

I will not accidentally walk past an answered prayer because it arrived differently than I imagined. I will not overlook sincere people because I am remembering insincere ones. I will not reject healthy love because unhealthy love taught me to be suspicious. I will not miss an opportunity because disappointment taught me to expect another closed door.

What’s good for me will not have to compete with what hurt me.

I declare that I am attentive enough to recognize God’s goodness, wise enough to properly handle it, and grateful enough to appreciate it while I have it.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” — Psalm 34:8 (KJV)

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION

I Expect to Have Something to Smile About

I affirm that something good can happen for me.

Not someday.

Not only for everybody else.

For me, too.

I expect moments that make me smile without forcing it. I expect conversations that leave my heart lighter. I expect laughter that catches me off guard. I expect progress I can actually see. I expect prayers to produce answers, hard work to produce results, and ordinary days to contain extraordinary moments.

I will not spend today rehearsing everything that could go wrong.

Something can go right.

Something can work.

Something can change.

Something can finally make sense.

Something can arrive at the perfect time.

And something can happen that makes me stop, smile, look toward Heaven and say,

“God… I know that was You.”

Today, I make room in my thinking for good news.

I make room in my heart for good people.

I make room in my life for good experiences.

And I make room on my face for a real smile.

Because after everything God has already brought me through, I have every reason to believe:

There is still plenty of GOOD with my name on it.
