As the holidays are upon us, everyone is very much in the spirit. People are gathering as much as they can (with being mindful of Covid) to be with family and share some quality time. People are thinking of others more and being more mindful of the homeless and less fortunate. I wish things like this could be all year-round. For some it is, but there are so many that do not experience the spirit of cheer throughout the year. As we practice being cheerful and being kind during these months, let us continue this throughout the year. Don't you feel amazing as you are going about your day, smiling to others and lending a helping hand? Doesn't it feel good to see others all around you being happy for something? Yes, others are going through some trials but doesn't it feel good to try your best to cheer them up or make them smile. No, it may not take away the problem, but it sure does feel good to laugh, even if it is just for a short moment.
As we give the Spirit more control of our lives, He begins to do in and through us what only He can do - to shape us and grow us to look like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). Even though we all miss the mark every day, I am certain we all are striving to be more like Jesus, I know I am.
Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version (NIV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
** It is not easy but do not give up, keep trying to walk in the fruit of the Spirit**
