A Kiss from Rose | A Transparent Birthday Prayer for My Sister

Heavenly Father,

Today, I don’t come before You pretending to have always gotten everything right.

If I’m honest, I may not have always been the best sister. I may not have always been as present as I should have been. There were moments when life became overwhelming, responsibilities piled up, and the weight I carried caused me to miss opportunities to simply be there.

But one thing has never changed…

I’ve always loved my sister.

Thank You for allowing love to remain, even when life wasn’t perfect. Thank You for giving us another opportunity to grow, to heal, and to cherish the relationship You’ve blessed us with.

Lord, on her birthday, I ask that You cover her from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet. Bless her with good health, peace that surpasses all understanding, joy that cannot be stolen, and favor that opens doors no one can close. Strengthen her in every area of her life, and remind her daily of how deeply she is loved—by You and by those You have placed around her.

Father, teach us not to take one another for granted. Help us to put down the distractions, make the phone call, send the text, spend the time, and create the memories. Help us to be present—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Let us encourage one another, pray for one another, celebrate one another, and walk beside one another through every season of life.

Forgive us for the moments we’ve allowed busyness, pride, hurt, or simply the pace of life to create distance where there should have been closeness. Remind us that relationships are a gift from You, and they flourish when they are nurtured with love, grace, patience, and intention.

Today, I thank You for the sister I prayed for. Thank You for every laugh we’ve shared, every lesson we’ve learned, and every chapter still waiting to be written. May our bond continue to grow stronger with each passing year, always reflecting Your love and Your faithfulness.

We choose today to love one another more deeply, to show up more intentionally, and to never assume there will always be another tomorrow.
