“When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” – Matthew 9:36 (NIV)
Jesus didn’t just walk among people—He felt them. Their pain. Their struggle. Their confusion. And His response wasn’t judgment—it was compassion. Over and over in Scripture, we see a Savior who stops, sees, touches, weeps, heals, and restores—not because people deserved it, but because love compelled Him.
Christ’s compassion isn’t soft—it’s powerful. It reaches beyond the surface. It sits with the broken. It touches the untouchable. It restores what was dismissed. His compassion wasn’t based on status, behavior, or appearance. It was rooted in who He is—a loving, present, and merciful Redeemer.
And that same compassion is still flowing toward you today. He sees where you’re tired. He knows what you’re hiding. He hears what you’re afraid to say out loud. And He’s not pulling away—He’s pulling closer.
Let the compassion of Christ be your comfort, and let it also become your calling—to see people how He sees them, and to respond not with judgment, but with grace.
How can I extend the same compassion I’ve received from Christ to someone else today?
Jesus, thank You for seeing me in my brokenness and still choosing to love me. Thank You for Your compassion that never runs out. Help me to slow down, see others the way You do, and carry that same compassion into every conversation, every space, and every relationship. Let my heart reflect Yours.
In Your name, Amen.
