Sometimes, life becomes too heavy to carry alone. The weight, the pressure, the silent struggles—we take it all on, telling ourselves we have to stay strong. But the truth is, even the strongest among us need to feel held.
It’s okay to need a hug. Not just any hug, but one that holds you up when you’re barely standing. A hug that says, I see you, I care for you, and I’m here for you. It’s okay to let yourself lean on someone else, to allow their strength to steady you when yours is running out.
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we must stop pretending we’re so strong that we don’t need each other. Being vulnerable is not weakness—it’s humanity. Sometimes, we try to carry what God has told us to release, and in doing so, we find ourselves breaking—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
In those moments, it’s okay to let go. To cry—not the polite, quiet tears but the deep, soul-cleansing, ugly cry that lets out all the frustration, fear, and exhaustion. It’s okay to fall into the arms of someone who loves you, even if just for five minutes, and let it all out.
And let’s not forget, sometimes you need to give a hug because you need one too. God places people in our lives to remind us of His love and to show us that we’re not alone. A hug can be a lifeline, a moment of grace that says, You don’t have to do this by yourself.
So I ask you: Do you need a hug? Will you allow someone to hug you?
Even your strong people are hurting. Don’t let pride or fear keep you from receiving the love, comfort, and connection you deserve. Get your hugs in. Let yourself be held. Sometimes, it’s the first step toward healing.
Amen 🙏 indeed
