A Kiss from Rose | Don’t Forget to Notice Yourself

You’ve been showing up too.

We spend so much time noticing everybody else.

Who needs encouragement. Who needs prayer. Who needs a phone call. Who needs help. Who needs us to be strong.

But today, I want you to notice you.

Notice how many times you kept going when stopping would’ve been easier. Notice the things you handle now that once would’ve overwhelmed you. Notice the way you’ve learned to pray differently, think differently, respond differently, and recognize what deserves your energy.

You may not be exactly where you want to be yet, but don’t disrespect your progress simply because you’re still progressing.

David had an interesting moment before facing Goliath. When everyone else saw what he had never done, David remembered what God had already brought him through.

He remembered the lion.

He remembered the bear.

And then he said:

“The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me…” — 1 Samuel 17:37 (KJV)

David essentially looked backward long enough to remind himself, “Wait a minute. God and I have been through some things together.”

Maybe you need to do that today.

You’ve survived some lions.

You’ve fought some bears.

You’ve walked through some situations that could’ve changed your heart completely—and somehow, you can still love, laugh, pray, dream, give, and believe.

That’s worth noticing.

💌 Grandma’s Corner

Today isn’t about proving anything.

It’s about acknowledging something.

You’re growing.

You’re learning.

You’re becoming wiser about what you entertain, where you invest yourself, and what you allow to disturb you.

And you may still have some work to do.

Good. You’re human.

But don’t become so focused on the parts of yourself you’re still working on that you never celebrate the parts God has already worked on.

Look at yourself today and say:

“I’m proud of how far God has brought me—and I’m excited to meet the person He’s still helping me become.”

You’ve spent enough time noticing everybody else’s growth.

Today, notice yours.
