Childhood memories aren't they refreshing at times? Running around carefree with friends, playing, and having fun? Wasn't it refreshing to know that you would be taken care of by your parents or family members? Do you remember being within hearing distance of your parents while playing in the yard and making a wish on a daffodil, just blowing your heart's out? Shortly will come that doll or truck that you wished for? Not realizing that your parents could hear you and they would be the ones honoring your wish? You thought it was pure magic! Yes, refreshing childhood memories of wishes coming true. Well as adults we are not usually blowing on daffodils but praying to God to answer our prayer. Just like a parent with listening ears in the distance, He hears us. I remember praying for things and people, only to find out they or it will be my next storm ( hence, Wildfire Luke in the book Prayers and Wisdom from Grandma's House), nevertheless, God heard me and gave me what I prayed for. Now I have learned to pray for things according to His will. Another thing I should mention, I was a beggar to God, I would plea and beg during my prayer. You do not have to beg God for anything! I had to learn that. Praying to God is a very important part of your communication and relationship with Him. You are saying, God, I trust You, God I need You, God I want to talk with You, and God I read Your word and I know the promised You have for me.
Below are some scripture about God answering prayer
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Psalm 102:17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.
Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
Psalm 145:18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Luke 11:9-13 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
John 14:13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
