A Kiss from Rose | A Great Leader in the Making

In the Bible, one of the notable stories of a young boy who became a leader is that of King Josiah. Josiah became king of Judah at the tender age of eight, following the assassination of his father, King Amon. His story is found in 2 Kings 22 and 2 Chronicles 34. Despite his young age, Josiah is remembered as one of the most righteous kings in Israel's history. He sought after God early in his reign and worked diligently to reform Judah, removing idols and restoring the worship of Yahweh.

At just eight years old, Josiah’s reign is a powerful reminder that God can use anyone, regardless of age, to accomplish His will. His leadership showed great maturity and commitment to righteousness. When Josiah was in his twenties, he ordered the repair of the temple, during which the Book of the Law was discovered. Upon hearing the words of the law, Josiah humbled himself, leading the nation in a covenant renewal to follow God's commandments. His life is an inspiration, demonstrating that faith and obedience to God can bring about profound change, no matter how young or old you are.

Recently, Pastor Jermaine Lane described my life as mirroring the story of King Josiah. He believes that just as Josiah brought about great change in his nation, I too have the potential to become a great leader and make a lasting impact on the world. Pastor Lane emphasized how God is revealing my genuine heart and encouraged me to stay the course, knowing that by remaining faithful, I will be able to make the necessary changes to transform the world around me, just as Josiah did for Judah.

Are you, too, a great leader in the making? Just as God raised up Josiah, He may also be preparing you for a powerful purpose. Take heart, stay the course, and trust that your journey is part of a greater plan.
