A Kiss from Rose | You Don’t Have to Be Ordained

You don’t need a title or ordination to pray for someone or offer words of encouragement that could change their day—or even their life. Prayer and sharing God’s love are not reserved for a select few; they are gifts given to every believer. The Bible reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). When you speak words of love, hope, and faith, or when you lift someone in prayer, God hears and honors your efforts.

Think about how Jesus taught us to pray. He didn’t demand lofty words or religious status. He said, “When you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” (Matthew 6:6). God doesn’t measure the value of your prayers by your position; He measures them by the sincerity of your heart.

When you pray or share God’s promises with someone who is struggling, you are reflecting His love, and that brings Him joy. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Every act of kindness, every prayer offered, is an act of service to God Himself.

Your prayers and words may seem small to you, but they carry the weight of Heaven. Never doubt the power of your faith and love to touch lives. After all, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:18). In every heartfelt prayer or message of hope, God is glorified and His light shines through you.

“You don’t have to be ordained to pray for someone. You don’t have to be ordained to point someone in the direction of God/ Jesus Christ. You don’t have to be ordained to share religious and spiritual messages. Nevertheless, the more you do it, you may experience an unexpected urge to learn more and take it to another level.” - Alston Shropshire
