No one expects to be a widow or widower, nor do a child expects to be mother or fatherless. The people who have to walk in these shoes may not know how they will make it. I know firsthand the feeling of being a widow. In my 20s, I had to wear those shoes. My children had to wear the shoes of being fatherless after their father was murdered.
Not in my word as I was raised, I was not familiar with the scripture in the book of Exodus. Yes, I had a foundation; however, I was not necessarily reading it daily. There is something about the word of God that will cover you and your children when you don't think you are standing firmly enough. I would often communicate with God, thank Him, and make my petitions known, however. Whenever someone would attempt to take advantage of us or not do right by us, God had a way of working it out. We would always be ok. My children know who God is and how important it is to talk to Him. I often wonder what the conversations my children had and have with God. What petitions may have been made by them?
I say this to say, people who may seem alone are not alone. God is with them. God is taking care of the widows and the fatherless. Do not try to take advantage of them. Please help them. Be nice to them. Guide them in the right direction. God will indeed bless you for it.
Exodus 22: 22-24 says:
22 "Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. 23 If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. 24 My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
No one wants to be under the wrath of God. Do not take advantage of others. God is listening to their cries. Walk with love and always do the right thing.
22 “Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless." - Exodus 22:22
