A Kiss from Rose| Only by Prayer

Some may wonder why she prayed so much or why my parents or grandparents prayed so much? Prayer is essential and necessary. I think no one should ever turn down praying for ourselves or others—prayer changes things. Prayer is powerful! Prayer can deliver you out of a situation. Prayer can remove an evil spirit from a person. When someone is not acting like themselves, pray for them. When it seems like all chaos is going on around you, pray for peace. None of us can afford not to pray. God commanded us to pray and pray for others. The question is will you take the time, and will you be obedient to God's commandments?

25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again."

26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?"

29 He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer.[a]"

Mark 9:25-29 (NIV)

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

James 5:16 (NIV)

Heavenly Father, I honor your commandment and praise Your name. Thank You for giving me detailed instructions to please You. Thank You for the commandments that will keep me on the right path. Father, I thank You for being an active ear and perfect executor of my petitions. Cover everyone on this day. Remove any impurities that are not of You. Heal, protect, and guide us. Grant us favor wherever we go. In Jesus' name, Amen.
