There’s no fooling God. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Creator of all things. You may ask, “If it be in His will,” but then grow frustrated at the outcome. Yet God KNOWS what you said, what you meant, and where your heart truly stood.
You claim you’ll pray for others, yet the prayers never manifest. God KNOWS that, too. He sees through empty words and half-hearted intentions. You can say one thing with your lips, but God examines the heart, and He KNOWS when it isn’t aligned with love, grace, and truth.
He KNOWS when you’re faking it to make it. He KNOWS when you’re acting as though you trust Him but secretly doubting or scheming. You can’t run a quick play around God; He is the author of existence itself. He wasn’t born at night, nor was He born last night—He is eternal, all-knowing, and sovereign.
You may deceive others. You may even trick yourself into believing your intentions are pure. But God sees through the façade. He knows your thoughts, your plans, and your next move. To think you can fool God is not just unwise—it’s self-deception.
Consider two examples from Scripture of those who tried to deceive God and their outcomes:
1. Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)
They sold a piece of land but secretly kept part of the money while pretending to give all of it to the apostles. They sought recognition without full integrity. God saw their dishonesty, and both fell dead because of their deceit. This wasn’t a judgment for withholding money but for lying to the Holy Spirit—proof that God examines the heart, not just the action.
2. King Saul (1 Samuel 15)
God commanded Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites and their possessions. Saul disobeyed, keeping the best livestock while claiming he spared them for “sacrifices to the Lord.” God saw through his excuses and rebellion, and Saul lost his kingship. Partial obedience masked as piety didn’t fool God; He examined Saul’s heart and found it wanting.
You might be able to convince yourself that your actions are justified, or that God doesn’t notice small inconsistencies. But God searches the heart, not just the appearance. You can’t fool Him.
Stop playing yourself. Stop trying to impress others while neglecting the truth before God. You only hurt yourself in the process. Align your heart with Him, for it’s not what you say or appear to do that matters most—it’s what’s truly within. God KNOWS, and His knowledge is perfect, just, and unshakable.
