Do not allow anyone to sway you one way or the other. Let everything be authentically your decision. Discernment is key. Pray about it. Sleep on it. Allow God to be your ultimate counsel. Stand on it.
Here are some things to consider what not to allow others to sway you on:
Your prayer life (this is your communication with God)
Your marriage(only you will have to live with them)
Your friends (you will learn who they really are)
Your career (only you will have to work there)
Your home purchase (you will be the one living there for 30 years or more- the ultimate goal)
Spending money (when you are broke, only you and your family feel the hit)
What church to attend (You are going for the word, not the people)
What car to buy (you are the only one paying the note)
What state to live in (only you will be either happy or not)
Just like with your faith, you have to be unmovable and steadfast. Do not be easily swayed.
1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
