Having someone or something block your view can lead you into a disastrous situation. How can you see where you are going or meet your goal if something is impairing your view? It is like you are in a bondage type of situation.
If you are married and something or someone is blocking your view or distracting you from your focus, not only are you in bondage to that person or thing; but you are failing to operate under the contract you agreed to. Isn't the goal to stay married? When you see God, you can ultimately see your marriage.
Being surrounded by friends and it's only about you; then you are blocking someone from receiving reciprocation in a mutual friendship. Remember two-way streets? Give and take? Don't you want the friends you have? Didn't you pray for them?
If you are on the job and constantly talking, taking multiple breaks, stealing time, you too are blocking your view. Isn't the goal to stay employed, get paid, become stable, and take care of your family? Why jeopardize that? Didn't you pray for the job in the first place?
Well, if you understand these concepts, why are you allowing things to distract you from God? There is no marriage, friendships, or job without Him. He is the one who brought you to all of it. How will you maintain any of these things if you allow someone or something to block your view?
Father, in the name of Jesus, do not allow anything or anyone to block my view of You. Father, I understand the importance of having You in my life. I know that I need You to sustain the people and things in my life. Father, when I focus on You, my marriage thrives. Father, when I have You as a friend first and value our friendship, I will not only see but value my other friendships. Father, when my vision is not impaired, I can focus on the goal and tasks ahead of me. Father, destroy the chains of bondage and remove the vision blockers. In Jesus' name, amen.

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
- Proverbs 29:18
