A Kiss from Rose | A Perspective on Positives and Negatives

Finding a balance between speaking positively and acknowledging negatives can profoundly impact our lives. Positive speech uplifts our spirits, fosters optimism, and cultivates resilience in challenging times.

Conversely, acknowledging negatives allows for introspection, growth, and problem-solving. Embracing both aspects fosters a holistic perspective, leading to a more authentic and fulfilling life journey.

This principle is echoed throughout biblical teachings. In Philippians 4:8, the apostle Paul encourages believers to focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy, indicating the power of positive thinking.

However, Ecclesiastes 7:14 reminds us that in times of adversity, we should also consider the hand of God, recognizing the importance of acknowledging negatives.

Positive speech, rooted in biblical principles, can encourage others (Proverbs 16:24), strengthen faith (Romans 10:17), and foster unity (Ephesians 4:29).

Conversely, acknowledging negatives can promote humility (Proverbs 12:1), spur growth (James 1:2-4), and deepen empathy (Romans 12:15).By embracing both positive and negative aspects of speech, individuals can cultivate a balanced and spiritually enriching life, grounded in biblical wisdom and characterized by authenticity and growth.

"Don't look at those who are willing to speak the truth as being negative or combative. They are the ones with the courage to see and articulate what's going on. If it were not for the truth speaker (or complainers) we could still be in slavery or living on plantations. We could still lack the power to vote. Women would not be able to be doctors, lawyers, politicians, preachers, or business owners.

Someone stood up. Spoke their truth which resonated with others and started the conversation for change. Change often times start with a compliant (negative), which turns into something positive." -Alston Shropshire
