Fannie Lou was an American voting rights activist and civil rights leader. Born in 1917 and dies in 1977, she was the Vice-Chair of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party for whom she attended the 1964 Democratic National Convention as such. She ran for Congress in 1964 and 1965, and was a member of Mississippi official delegation to the Democratic National Convention of 1968.
She died at the age of 59. Her tombstone has one of her famous quotes, “I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
