A Kiss from Rose|October 13th

Have you ever had a double-barrel shotgun touching the temple of your head? I have. Do you know and understand the type of trauma that brings throughout the rest of your life? I do. If you have read my book Prayer and Wisdom from Grandma's House ( listed under Hurricane Sandy) then you would have read a portion of the story. When you are placed in a situation that is life or death, you begin to think, in flashes but thoughts still yet. When you walk out of your door, you never know what the day may bring. This is why it is so very important to pray every day for your protection. This is why it is also important to thank God for what He has already done and what favor He is going to bring you. It is important to not only pray for yourself but your family and friends as well. Your prayer may be the prayer that was standing in the gap for their survival. At that time, I didn't think it was the prayers of my own that protected me, but the prayers of my grandmother Rosa Alston Frasier. I knew she prayed for me every day, she not only told me she did, but I saw and heard her as well. Every day in the kitchen or on her knees by her bedside, calling out the names of her family with special attention to me (I always was into something). I thank her for that type of dedication and her solid relationship with God. I pray for my family the same way, especially my grandchildren. Getting back to my point, the foundation of prayers and the protection of God will cover you in situations where you should have surely died. God will sweep through a hail of bullets and you not be touched. God's mighty hand on your life can produce miraculous testimonies.

Can you afford not to pray today? You can't always count on someone else to pray for you.

Father God in the name of Jesus, we thank You for your shield of protection over our lives and the lives of our family members. We thank You for never taking Your eyes and hands off of us. Father continue to protect and guide us in our going out and coming in. Father, surround us with Your mighty angels throughout our day. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
