A Kiss from Rose| January 21th

The road back to your past can be very long. In most cases, we don't necessarily know how far we have come until we sit back and think about and visualize the many things we have been through. I can remember at a young age, the joys and heartaches of my first "love." I can remember the tearful nights of past relationships, altercations, and being investigated for murder. All of the things I have been through, yes, my road was long. I can remember the heartaches I have caused my family. Because "I" thought "I" knew what was best for my life; I had so much experience and wisdom that qualified me, you know what I'm saying!

I don't know how many tears the people around me cried because of my rebellious behaviors. However, I am sure there were many since I didn't get it together for a very long time. Some people meet you in the middle of the road and think you are a "hot mess," but they didn't know the road that was behind you was in worse shape. Sure we all have a long way to go, but we all will get there. With wisdom on our journey, we begin to realize that because God has been with us the whole time. We know God is with us because we have survived all of the storms, joys, and disasters; some may have been self-inflicted ( yes, we cause some of these things too) or those caused by others. As we sit in some "mess" situations or watching someone younger go through theirs, we must think back on the road we have traveled and how far we have come. I am sure it looks way better where we are. Heck, we all could have been dead today if God didn't save us from some of the things you went through.

So in our tell God thank you moment, let's thank Him for the road we have traveled, the road we are on, and the new road that lies ahead because we know He is, was, and will be right there holding our hand.

Father God, thank You for being my traveling companion on this road of life. Thank You for not leaving me. Thank You for the tests and the blessings along the way. Thank You for wiping every tear away. Thank You, God, for forgiving me for each and every mistake I've ever made to this day. Thank You for keeping me from the death angel so I can carry out Your will and purpose. Father, ease the pain that I have caused in others and allow them to forgive me for being the reason their road was a bit rough. Father, cover us all and grant us favor in the days ahead. Continue to keep me safe in Your arms all the day of my life. In Jesus's name, Amen.
