A Kiss from Rose | How Did The Twelve Die

Today's message is more of a did you know. We all know some things about the twelve disciples, but do we know how they died? Do you know the back story leading up to their deaths? What are your thoughts about how they all died? Well, hopefully, today's message will lead you to read what led up to the manner in which they died.


He died a martyr’s death in Rome


Andrew died a martyr’s death. He faced crucifixion


He was the first disciple to be martyred (he was beheaded)


He was exiled to the island of Patmos.


Philip was stoned and crucified in Hierapolis, Phrygia.

Nathanael (Also known as Bartholomew)

He was beaten, crucified, and beheaded


Hircanus, the king, had him killed with a spear.



Some suggest being run through by a spear killed him.

James the Less

He was crucified in Sinai or possibly stoned to death in Jerusalem.


Simon went to England, where he was crucified in 74 AD.

Judas, son of James

He was clubbed to death for his faith.

Judas Iscariot

Suicide by hanging
