When was the last time you called to check on someone sincerely? When was the last time someone checked on you?
Life has changed so much; I remember when it was okay to stop by someone’s house to see if they were okay because you hadn’t seen them in a while. It was not rude to do so back then.
Nowadays, it is rude to do so, whether it’s family or friends. You cannot pop up and check on someone.
Not to be nosy, but just to let someone know you were thinking about them and to ensure they are okay.
I remember when everyone didn’t have a house phone or three-way calling, so you had to pop up.
I remember when you went to the store, you would ask someone else if they needed anything. All of these things were looked at as good gestures.
Nowadays, people don’t ask; heck, you barely get hospital visits.
We need to get back to the basics of caring and being kind to others. We need to check on one another with sincerity.
It’s a good thing God has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Are you not thankful He still checks up on you? God just shows up! He doesn’t call first. Can you imagine if God had to call you first, and you missed the call? Say you didn’t want to be bothered that day and put your phone on Do Not Disturb. How many blessings would you miss? What about healing? What about wisdom and protection?
You could be missing out on blessings from others as well; maybe God is sending these people to you.
Maybe God is giving them the discernment to call you. Perhaps He is giving it to you to call or visit them.
Let’s get back to the basics. Let’s get on a two-way street of love, compassion, kindness and concern.
