Who have you poured into? How long has it been since you poured into someone or thing? What is your reason behind doing so? Doesn't it feel good to pour out a financial blessing into someone? Doesn't it feel good to pour out good advice, a good scripture, or even a smile? Most people want a financial blessing given to them. They love to tell the story of how someone gave them something or how someone is always blessing them. I often wonder how often are they giving? I wonder if they realize that the givers like to receive also. Some may say, I barely have anything to give. Well, the woman in the bible with the two mites (coins)gave, I sure didn't have much to give, yet she did so. A closed fist that is unable to give is also unable to receive. Be an unexpected giver today.
Luke 21:1-4
And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2 and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites.[a]3 So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all;4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings[b]for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”
Mark 12:41-42
Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two [a]mites, which make a [b]quadrans.
Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully.7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
