Sometimes you need a little prayer before you close your eyes. As a child, I remember you could not get in bed without saying your prayers. I do not remember my prayer going like this, but I am thankful to have a conversation with God nevertheless. Let's get back to saying our nightly prayers.
Thank You, God, for covering me throughout this day. I thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for being my shield of protection. I am more than thankful for You bringing me home to my family safe. Continue to cover me throughout the night. Please be a fence around my dwelling—I plea the blood of Jesus over the doors as I sleep. I thank You for allowing me to rest in the safety of Your arms. In Jesus' name, amen.
